First In Technology. Yet Last In Education

At Waldorf School in Silicone Valley (the center of corporations such as google, apple, and microsoft), students do not have access to any sort of computers.  While other schools have been changing with the generation, this seemingly advanced region has chosen not to do the same.  I personally think that if these same people that created these corporations believe that the traditional method of learning is the path to success, the know something that technologically advanced schools do not.  However it is also important to give the students what they want so that they can stay motivated. Why is it that these same people that have  pushed the world forward are now trying to keep it in the past?

Fired Over Facebook

Just goes to show how a simple facebook post that was someone's opinion can get them fired because others can find the post offensive.  Everything posted on the internet can be used against you in some way even if t is in the future.  It may even get you fired.

Applying What I Learned This Week

This past week I learned about using google reader and flipboard.  In the future, this can help me organize everything that I'm interested in as well as work and entertainment all in one convenient location.  This information of organizing different topics can be applied to future high school courses as well as college.

The Limits of Searches

Although it is good for websites to be personalized to what you are interested most, it is also good to see what other people like and their points of view.  Google and other websites should have the option of either searching through your own personal interests, as well as having the option of searching through a random individual's personal search preferences.
